Jason Meek + the creation of jm photographics
Jason Meek, founder of jm photographics, launched his business right after graduating from college in 2001 with a vision to create a brand that stood out in the competitive photography industry. Inspired by the abundance of photographers at the time, Jason aimed to establish a visually creative business that would attract like-minded individuals who shared his passion for innovation and excellence.
One of the hallmarks of Jason's career has been his commitment to making a real impact through his work, particularly with non-profits. A notable example is his dedication to projects that drive community change. Jason's ability to deliver high-quality, impactful photography for these organizations has earned him numerous accolades, including being named the Best Photographer in his area and even across the state. His work has been published by major brands over the years, underscoring the high regard in which he is held within the industry.
Among the achievements that Jason holds dear, the recognition and publication of his work stand out. Seeing his name and photos in magazines, books, client websites, and various online presentations is a testament to his skill and dedication. However, Jason emphasizes that his greatest satisfaction comes from working closely with clients to solve their problems and create visual presentations that meet their needs, rather than chasing likes on social media.
Over the years, jm photographics has evolved significantly. Initially, Jason felt he was moving along the same path as others in the industry. It wasn't until he took a step back and assessed his journey that he realized his desire to forge a different path. His unique approach to projects and his keen eye for detail set him apart. Believing in his vision and capabilities led to a transformative change in his business approach. Today, jm photographics is characterized by a commitment to being different and better, driven by a positive, can-do attitude.
One of the most rewarding aspects of Jason's career has been his work with non-profits. His journey began in college when he documented the life of a man with AIDS in exchange for serving on the board of an HIV and AIDS advocacy group. This experience ignited a lifelong passion for giving back. For nearly 30 years, Jason has dedicated his time and talents to various causes, including HIV/AIDS advocacy, animal welfare, and supporting lower-income families. His collaborations with prominent organizations such as the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society highlight his commitment to making a difference through his photography.
Jason Meek's journey with jm photographics is a testament to his dedication to his craft, his clients, and his community. His success is not only measured by accolades and publications but also by the lasting impact he makes through his work and the meaningful relationships he builds along the way.
